What is Quality Assurance?
In developing products and services, quality assurance is any systematic process of checking to see whether a product or service being developed is meeting specified requirements. Many companies have a separate department devoted to quality assurance.
A quality assurance system is said to increase customer confidence and a company’s credibility, to improve work processes and efficiency, and to enable a company to better compete with others.
Quality Assurance is a way of preventing mistakes or defects in manufactured products and avoiding problems when delivering solution or services to customers.
Quality is also a process facilitated by software, reporting and analysis tools that can collect information and determine by defined measures, rules and agreements the quality provided to an end user.
For example the audit performed by Software Quality Advisers on a project to check whether the project is following the defined process is Quality Assurance.
