Business Analyst Certification Training:

IIBA Level 1 – ECBA

Awarded by: International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®)

Objective: The ECBA® helps a new practitioner of business analysis to demonstrate his knowledge and capabilities according to needs designated by IIBA.

Pre-requisites: In order to appear in ECBA you do not require any working experience as a business analyst professional. You also don’t need to have any PDUs for appearing in this exam.

Exam Details: The IIBA ECBA® exam is 1.5 hours long and has 50 multiple choice questions. The questions are basic multiple choice that check knowledge and understanding of the candidate as defined by the Certification Framework of IIBA.

Best For: This certification can proof beneficial for people who want to start their career in Business Analysis.

The ECBA exam will check the examinees knowledge and understanding of the key components of BABOK® Guide v3, specifically as mentioned below:

IIBA Level 2 – CCBA

Awarded by: International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®)

Objective: The main objective of getting CCBA certified by individuals is to approve the knowledge, experience, skills, and expertise.

Pre-requisites: In order to appear in CCBA certification exam you need to have some of the pre-requisite qualities. Those criterion are listed as follows:

  • Minimum 3750 hours of Business Analysis work experience associated with the BABOK® Guide in the last 7 years
  • Minimum 900 hours in each of 2 of the six knowledge areas or minimum 500 hours in each of four of the six knowledge areas
  • Minimum 21 hours of Professional Development in the past four years
  • Two references from a career manager, client or CBAP® recipient
  • Signed Code of Conduct

Exam Details: The IIBA CCBA® exam is 3.5 hours long and consists of 150 multiple choice questions along with four possible answers to choose from.

Best For: This certification can proof beneficial for professionals who want to showcase their capabilities as business analyst.

The IIBA CCBA  exam will check the examinees knowledge and understanding of the key components of BABOK® Guide v3, specifically as mentioned below:

IIBA Level 3 – CBAP

Objective: A CBAP® certified professional is an elite member of the business analysis community, and a renowned expert in finding the business requirements of an organization for determining business solutions. CBAP® receivers are senior Business Analysts who have the skills to complete business analysis task on projects of different complexities and sizes.

Pre-requisites: In order to appear in CCBA certification exam you need to have some of the pre-requisite qualities. Those criterion are listed as follows:

  • Minimum 7500 hours of BA work experience aligned with the BABOK® Guide in the last 10 years
  • Minimum 900 hours in each of four of the six knowledge areas
  • Minimum 21 hours of Professional Development in the past four years
  • Two references from a career manager, client or CBAP® recipient
  • Signed Code of Conduct

IIBA Level 4 – CBATL

Awarded by: International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®)

Best for: CBATL is the final level of IIBA certification exam. This exam is meant for professionals who have been working as an Business Analyst for the past 10 or more years. This certification would help those individuals to achieve desired goal.

*IIBA has so far not completely defined what will be covered in CBATL Certification exam

PMI-PBA Business Analysis Certification

Awarded by: PMI-PBA

Objective: The main objective of getting PMI-PBA BA certification is to showcase one's knowledge, experience, skills, and expertise in businesss analysis.

Pre-requisites: In order to appear for PMI-PBA BA certification exam you need to have some of the pre-requisite qualities. Those criterion are listed as follows:

  • Secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree)
  • 7,500 hours of business analysis experience
  • 2,000 hours working on project teams
  • 35 contact hours of education in business analysis

or

  • Bachelor’s degree or the global equivalent
  • 4,500 hours of business analysis experience
  • 2,000 hours working on project teams
  • 35 contact hours of education in business analysis

Exam Details: The PMI-PBA exam consists of 200 multiple choice questions along with four possible answers to choose from.

Best For: This certification can proof beneficial for professionals who want to showcase their capabilities as business analyst.

The PMMI-PBA  exam will check the examinees knowledge and understanding of the key components of business analysis, specifically as mentioned below:
